Vision Correction
At Sojunghannun Eye Clinic, our highly experienced medical team has been performing vision correction procedures for over 25 years, dating back to the first generation of LASIK. With exceptional expertise and extensive experience, we provide the most suitable procedure for each patient, helping them achieve clearer vision.
SMILE is an advanced vision correction procedure that uses a highly precise femtosecond laser (VisuMax) to reshape the cornea. Unlike LASIK, it does not require creating a corneal flap, and unlike LASEK, it preserves the corneal epithelium. Instead, the laser creates a small incision to remove a thin lenticule from within the cornea, effectively correcting refractive errors.
What is 3D Edge SMILE?
3D Edge SMILE is a flap-free, minimally invasive vision correction procedure that ensures a painless experience.
SMILE utilizes advanced femtosecond laser technology to minimize corneal damage by requiring only one-tenth of the incision needed for traditional LASIK. This significantly reduces the risk of post-surgery side effects such as dry eyes and glare. Unlike conventional methods that involve creating a flap or reshaping the cornea through tissue ablation, SMILE offers a safer, more precise, and more comfortable vision correction solution. Because no flap is created, it provides greater resistance to external impact compared to traditional LASIK, allowing patients to return to their daily activities as early as the next day.
ICL Implantation
Intraocular lens (IOL) implantation is an excellent option for individuals with severe nearsightedness, farsightedness, or extremely thin corneas.
This procedure involves inserting highly advanced artificial lenses into the eye to enhance vision. While some may have concerns about the surgery, it has been performed safely for over 20 years, with the majority of patients reporting high satisfaction with their results.
For those with both presbyopia and moderate to severe hyperopia, IOL implantation may be the most effective solution for achieving clear vision and reducing dependence on glasses after refractive surgery.
For a safe and stable lens implantation, precise measurement of lens size, position, and eye depth is essential.
Additionally, pre-existing conditions like retinal diseases, cataracts, or glaucoma must be treated beforehand, and an iridotomy may be required to maintain proper eye pressure.
In rare cases where lens removal is needed, choosing a clinic with extensive experience and expertise is crucial.
At Sojunghannun Eye Clinic, we provide personalized, continuous eye care with a dedicated surgeon overseeing your vision health.

By combining world-class products with the latest surgical techniques, we offer a safe and efficient experience, helping our patients achieve clearer and more comfortable vision. At Sojunghannun Eye Clinic, your vision is our highest priority.
Presbyopia
Presbyopia is a condition in which the eye’s natural lens loses its flexibility, causing greater difficulty in focusing on close-up objects. Early signs of presbyopia include trouble seeing in low-light conditions, eye strain, and difficulty reading small text or distinguishing fine details. Most people begin to notice the effects of presbyopia in their 40s. With lens replacement surgery using multifocal intraocular lenses, patients can regain the ability to see both near and distant objects clearly, while minimizing their dependence on glasses.
Cataract
A cataract is the clouding of the eye's natural lens. Cataracts typically begin to develop in individuals between the ages of 40 and 50, although they can also occur in younger patients, often due to injury or trauma.
The eye's natural lens works much like a camera lens, focusing light and transmitting images to the brain. When the lens becomes cloudy, it leads to blurred vision and makes bright colors appear dull. Patients may also have increased difficulty seeing clearly at night.
